US-based UltraBac Software has appointed MSC Malaysia status firm Vanilla Applications as an exclusive agent for its backup and disaster recovery solutions throughout Southeast Asia.

Ultrabac Software chief executive officer and founder, Morgan Edwards, said, “Our Continuous Image Protection (CIP) and bare metal disaster recovery software is particularly well suited to the needs of small and medium enterprises in Southeast Asia.”

The cost effectiveness of our solutions has increased interest and demand for our products in the region,” said Edwards. As a result, we have formed a relationship with Vanilla Applications to ensure that UltraBac Partners and customers in Southeast Asia receive the same top-rated level of service and support as those do in other parts of the world.’

The skills and regional experience of the team at Vanilla Applications will provide area UltraBac customers and representatives with the high level of customer service they expect and deserve,” he said. We feel fortunate to have found a local company that feels as strongly about providing quality software and service as we do.”

Vanilla Applications co-founder Melina Hwang said the company’s team included data protection professionals with many years of experience in the Southeast Asian market. Their goal in partnering with UltraBac Software is to develop and support channels with designs to actively increase the number of UltraBac users in the region, she said.

‘The Vanilla team has many years of experience in managing operations for backup software companies in the region,” said Hwang. After assessing their technology and price point, we knew that UltraBac Software was a great fit for companies in Southeast Asia. Analysts, such as IDC, have predicted strong growth for data backup software in this area and UltraBac’s offerings meet the growing demands of those trying to find smarter ways to protect vastly growing volumes of business data.”

Partner recruitment drive

Hwang also described how recovery, particularly bare metal disaster recovery to dissimilar hardware or from physical-to-virtual servers, is now becoming a necessity for many businesses who need to take the time and complexity out of restoring downed machines. “UltraBac offers comprehensive file system backup, image backup, and bare metal disaster recovery for Microsoft Windows servers and applications.”

“Fuelled by compliance and legal pressures, data backup and guaranteed effective recovery is now both a business and legal imperative for enterprises of any size,” Hwang said. “With its ease-of-use and ability to restore a physical or virtual server in as little as 5 minutes, UltraBac quite simply hits the mark when it comes to the needs of small, medium, and large businesses.”

Vanilla Applications is now beginning its partner recruitment drive across Southeast Asia. In Malaysia they have signed a distribution agreement with Digital Paper who will be offering UltraBac to its network of resellers across the country, she said.

“We are very excited about this opportunity,” said Digital Paper chief executive officer, Rickie Liew. “UltraBac Software offers a relevant and compelling product for our market; it offers end users exceptionally competitive value for the money and it provides excellent margin potential for resellers we are recruiting.’

Founded in January 2012, Vanilla Applications is a MSC [Multimedia Supercorridor] Status Company headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
